Great Cornard Cricket Club Code of ConductAs a member club of the Hunts County Bats Suffolk Cricket League, this club is committed to maintaining the highest standards of behaviour and conduct of its members, players and officials. In pursuance of these standards, each person shall be required to comply with the following rules of conduct at all times whilst representing Great Cornard C.C. This code shall apply to any part of the cricket ground, and not merely the field of play.1. Players and team officials must at all times accept the Umpire?s decision. Players must not show dissent at the umpire?s decision or react in a provocative or disapproving manner towards an umpire at any time.2. Players and team officials shall not intimidate, assault or attempt to intimidate or assault an umpire, another player or a spectator.3. Players and team officials shall not use crude and/or abusive language (known as ?sledging?) nor make offensive gestures or hand signals nor deliberately distract an opponent.4. Players and team officials shall not make any racially abusive comments, nor indulge in racially abusive actions, against fellow players, officials, members and supporters.5. Players and team officials must at all times observe the , as well as the Laws of the game.Failure to comply with the above Code of Conduct may lead to a player being subjected to disciplinary action.Any contravention of this code requiring action from the club shall be dealt with by a committee of the club?s elected officers, with a simple majority required to reach a decision. In the event of a split decision, the Chairman shall have the casting vote on the matter.Should a course of disciplinary action be agreed upon, the club shall have the power to impose one or more of the following penalties :-1.To require the player to submit appropriate letter(s) of apology within a specified time.2.To record a reprimand and to give warning as to future conduct.3.To impose a fine not exceeding £504.To suspend the player for one or more matches, or for a stated period of time.5.To expel the player from the club.Please be aware that the Hunts County Bats Suffolk Cricket League has its own disciplinary rules and procedures in place. Any action which contravenes the above Code of Conduct could lead to you facing action from the league in addition to any action which the club may take.
